The AKG WMS470 Instrumental Set is a professional single-channel wireless system pairing a half-rack diversity receiver with a PT470 body-pack transmitter, intended for guitarists, bassists and keyboard players who need dependable cable-free operation. It suits installers and engineers specifying fixed multichannel systems as much as musicians working night to night.

The receiver is housed in an all-metal half 19-inch case with true diversity reception, and automatic frequency setup scans for a clear channel before transferring all frequency and setup data to the transmitter over an infrared link, removing manual matching from the soundcheck. Pilot tone transmission mutes the receiver output when the transmitter is off or out of range, preventing unexpected start-up noise. The system shares infrastructure with the WMS 4500 range, so antenna splitters, power supplies and directional or omni-directional antennas can be carried across into larger installations.
