The AKG W3004 is a foam windscreen and pop shield for handheld vocal microphones, fitted to reduce plosives, breath blasts and wind noise at close working distances. It suits engineers, installers and vocalists who need consistent close-mic capture without low-frequency thumps overloading the input stage.

The moulded foam sleeve stretches over the microphone basket and grips without tools, adhesives or clips, so it can be removed for cleaning between users and refitted in seconds. The profile is kept slim to preserve the handling feel and visual line of the microphone on camera and on stage, and the material is resilient enough for repeated fitting in a working kit.
