The dbx RTA-M is a reference measurement microphone designed for real-time analysis and system tuning, giving integrators and engineers a dependable acoustic reference when setting up loudspeaker systems. It is the companion microphone for DriveRack processors running auto-EQ and room analysis routines, and equally useful for anyone verifying response in a room by ear and by measurement.

The capsule is omnidirectional with a flat frequency response, so it captures the sound field arriving at the listening position without the proximity and off-axis colouration of a typical vocal microphone. It connects over standard balanced XLR and requires phantom power from the analyser, console or DriveRack unit. The body is a slim, rugged metal design that mounts easily on a standard microphone stand, and a clip is supplied for quick placement at the mix position or across multiple measurement points in a venue.
