The AKG PZM30D is a boundary-layer condenser microphone that mounts flush to a table, floor, lectern or wall and uses the surface itself as part of its acoustic design. Pressure zone operation avoids the comb filtering caused by delayed reflections arriving at a conventional microphone, giving consistent, intelligible pickup of speech and acoustic sources across a wide area. It suits AV integrators, installers and engineers who need discreet, reliable capture without a visible stand or gooseneck.

The hemispherical pickup pattern covers everything above the mounting plane, so several talkers can share one microphone with even level and tone. A switchable dual frequency response allows a flat setting for natural reproduction or a rising characteristic that lifts presence and articulation in reverberant rooms. The low-profile metal housing is rugged enough for permanent installation and repeated stage use, and the detachable cable simplifies replacement and cable routing in fixed systems.
