DESCRIPTION
The AKG K240 MKII is a semi-open, over-ear studio headphone built for tracking, mixing reference and general monitoring duties. The semi-open acoustic design gives a more natural, less congested presentation than a fully sealed headphone, making it a practical choice for engineers, producers, broadcast operators and musicians who spend long sessions on headphones.
Each earcup uses a 30 mm XXL transducer with a Varimotion diaphragm, which varies in thickness across its surface to control break-up modes and extend response at both ends of the band. At 55 ohms it is an easy load for headphone amplifiers, console monitor sends and audio interfaces alike. The self-adjusting headband keeps setup time to a minimum in shared studio and control-room environments, and the ear pads and cable are replaceable, so the headphones can be maintained rather than retired.
- Frequency range of 15 Hz to 25 kHz from 30 mm XXL Varimotion transducers
- Rated impedance 55 ohms with sensitivity of 104 dB SPL/V at 1 kHz
- Maximum input power of 200 mW
- Detachable mini-XLR cables: 3 m straight EK300 and 5 m coiled EK500, with 3.5 mm plug and gold-plated screw-on 6.3 mm adapter
- Supplied with two velvet and two leatherette ear pads; 240 g without cable
Well suited to studio tracking and mixing, broadcast, education and rehearsal-room monitoring.
