The AKG HT420 is a UHF handheld transmitter with a dynamic vocal capsule, intended for presenters and vocalists who need dependable, cable-free pickup as part of a WMS420 wireless system. Its cardioid pattern maximises gain before feedback and keeps the voice clearly defined in a dense mix.

The transmitter pairs with the SR420 receiver and tunes across a group of preset channels within its UHF sub-band, so multiple systems can be deployed together without manual frequency hunting. Construction follows AKG's touring practice: a metal body, a spring-steel wire-mesh grille that resists denting, and an internal shock mount and windscreen to suppress handling noise and plosives. A single AA cell keeps replacement simple during a changeover.
