A Shure BLX24 wireless system fitted with the SM58 capsule — the cardioid dynamic that has been the live vocal standard for decades.
The cardioid pattern isolates the voice from other sound on stage, and the built-in spherical filter cuts wind and breath noise. One-touch scan finds a clear channel, and a pair of AA batteries runs the handheld for up to 14 hours. Supplied with the receiver, handheld transmitter and batteries, frequency-coordinated before it leaves us so it won't clash with other radio mics on the day.
