DESCRIPTION
The Soundcraft FX16II is a compact 4-bus analogue console offering 26 inputs as standard, combining live mixing and multitrack recording capability in one frame. It suits engineers working small to mid-sized live rooms, rehearsal spaces and project studios where channel count, direct outputs and onboard effects matter more than a large footprint.
Sixteen mono channels use Soundcraft UltraMic pre-amps with switchable +48V phantom power, feeding the well-known 3-band British EQ with a swept mid-band. Four stereo returns handle playback sources and effects units, while inserts on every mono channel and across the stereo mix bus allow dynamics processors and outboard EQ to be patched into the signal path. Direct outputs on each mono channel are individually switchable pre- or post-fade, so the console can drive a 16-track recording system while the sub-group and mono sum outputs handle front-of-house and delay or fill duties. The steel chassis and clearly laid out control surface stand up to regular transport between venues.
- 16 mono channels with UltraMic pre-amps and channel mute control
- Built-in Lexicon dual effects processor
- 4-bus architecture with sub-groups routable to the mix
- Stereo 18dB/octave 100Hz high-pass filter to cut stage rumble
- 10-segment tri-coloured metering, two sub-group outputs and a separate mono sum output
A practical choice for live events, rehearsal rooms, houses of worship, education and small studio recording.
