The AKG Drum Set Session I is a seven-microphone package covering the full kit, pairing close mics for kick, snare and toms with a matched pair of condensers for overheads. It is aimed at engineers and musicians who need a consistent, repeatable drum sound without assembling a collection of mismatched microphones.

The set combines five dynamic and two condenser models, so the transient response and tonal balance across the kit are considered as a system rather than as individual purchases. Mounting hardware is supplied throughout: rim clamps for the toms and snare position the capsules quickly without additional stands, while stand adapters handle the overheads and kick. Everything stores in a rugged aluminium carrying case, which keeps the microphones and accessories together between sessions and stands up to regular transport.
