The AKG CK99L is a professional cardioid condenser lapel microphone intended for speech reinforcement where a discreet, wearable capsule has to deliver clear, natural reproduction. It suits presenters, worship leaders, lecturers and stage performers working on bodypack transmitters, as well as integrators specifying fixed talker positions.

The cardioid pattern is the key difference from omnidirectional lavaliers: it favours the wearer's voice and rejects sound arriving from behind and to the sides, which raises usable gain before feedback in rooms with foldback or nearby loudspeakers. A subtle rise in response above 10 kHz lifts consonants and adds intelligibility without making sibilance harsh. Positioning matters more than with an omni capsule, so mount the microphone centrally on the chest and keep it aimed at the mouth. The capsule housing and supplied hardware follow AKG's established lapel microphone construction, and the included windscreen and clip mean the microphone is ready to fit straight out of the box.
