The AKG CGN99C-S is a 30 cm gooseneck condenser microphone with a cardioid pickup pattern, intended for lecterns, pulpits and conference tables where a speaker's voice needs to be captured cleanly and consistently. It suits AV integrators and facility managers specifying fixed speech reinforcement, as well as venue technicians who need a discreet microphone that stays where it is set.

Part of AKG's 99ER Series of installed gooseneck microphones, the CGN99C-S pairs with the series' mounting and power modules rather than working as a standalone unit, so the capsule, gooseneck and interface can be specified to match the lectern or table it is installed in. The cardioid pattern rejects sound arriving from the rear and sides, which helps preserve gain before feedback when loudspeakers are in the same room. The gooseneck holds its position after adjustment and the slim black profile keeps the microphone visually unobtrusive on camera and in sightlines.
