The AKG C520 is a head-worn cardioid condenser microphone for performers who need both hands free and consistent vocal capture. It suits frontmen, singing keyboardists, drummers, guitarists and dancers, as well as backing vocalists who move around the stage, delivering close-miked lead or backing vocal tone without a stand or handheld capsule.

The cardioid polar pattern rejects off-axis stage noise and wedge spill, which improves gain-before-feedback in loud stage environments. A flexible microphone arm mounts on an adjustable headband, allowing the capsule to be positioned precisely and repeatably at the corner of the mouth, then left set for the run of a show. The integrated preamplifier feeds a standard 3-pin XLR output, so the C520 connects directly to any console or stagebox input with phantom power, and can be used with a belt-pack wireless transmitter via the appropriate adapter cable.
