The AKG C516 ML is a professional miniature condenser microphone on a flexible gooseneck, designed for close-miking instruments where a full-size microphone and stand would be impractical. It suits engineers and installers working on accordions, acoustic pianos, guitar speaker cabinets and keyboard or organ cabinets, and anyone who needs consistent capture from a performer who moves.

The capsule is mounted on a short flexible gooseneck so it can be positioned precisely over a sound hole, soundboard or grille and then left alone, holding its aim through a set. Termination is via a mini-XLR connector, which keeps the cable run light and unobtrusive and connects to an AKG phantom power adapter for a balanced XLR output into a standard mixing console or stage box. Construction is all-metal with a matte black finish that disappears against dark instruments and stage backdrops.
