The AKG C451 B is a reference-quality small-diaphragm condenser microphone built for close instrument work in the studio and on stage. It reproduces the acoustical behaviour of its predecessor, the C451 EB fitted with the CK1 capsule, making it a dependable choice for engineers who need accurate, consistent transient detail from percussion, drum overheads and acoustic instruments.

The cardioid capsule offers tight off-axis rejection for controlled separation in dense multi-microphone setups, and a transformerless output stage keeps the signal clean into long cable runs and standard preamplifier inputs. Switchable pre-attenuation and bass roll-off are set on the microphone body, so level and low-frequency control can be handled before the console. The all-metal housing and durable finish suit permanent installation as well as repeated touring and session use.
