The AKG C417PP is a miniature omnidirectional condenser lavalier microphone terminated in a standard 3-pin male XLR connector, intended for hardwired use where a discreet capsule and a permanent cable run are preferable to a bodypack transmitter. It suits presenters, actors and speakers who need consistent pickup without a visible microphone on stage or on camera.

The pre-polarised condenser capsule runs on phantom power directly from a mixing console, stage box or preamp input, so no batteries or in-line adapters are required in the signal chain. Its omnidirectional pattern captures sound evenly from all directions, which keeps level and tonality stable if the talent turns their head away from the capsule, and reduces the handling and clothing noise that more directional lavaliers can exaggerate. The lightweight capsule and thin cable are designed to disappear against clothing, and the XLR termination integrates cleanly with fixed lectern, podium and rostrum positions.
