The AKG C411PP is a miniature condenser vibration pickup designed to amplify acoustic stringed instruments by sensing the vibration of the instrument body rather than the air around it. It suits guitarists, violinists, mandolin and double bass players, and the engineers who have to get a clean, feedback-resistant signal from them on a loud stage.

Because the capsule couples directly to the instrument, stage spill and monitor wash are largely rejected, allowing far more gain before feedback than a conventional airborne microphone in the same position. The PP version terminates in a standard 3-pin XLR connector, so it plugs straight into any console, stage box, preamp or wireless bodypack input supplying phantom power, with no proprietary interface required. The pickup is supplied with mounting compound that holds it securely to the instrument and releases cleanly, leaving no permanent modification or residue.
