The AKG C151 is a small-diaphragm cardioid condenser designed for accurate, detailed capture of transient-rich sources. Its custom-engineered capsule delivers a natural, clean response that suits engineers recording acoustic instruments, drum overheads, percussion and amplified guitar, as well as installers needing a compact pencil condenser for permanent front-of-house or broadcast use.

A cardioid polar pattern provides consistent off-axis rejection for close placement and multi-microphone setups where bleed between sources must be controlled. The microphone handles sound pressure levels up to 147 dB without perceptible distortion, so it can be positioned close to loud cabinets and drum kits while retaining headroom. An extremely low noise floor extends the usable dynamic range downwards, keeping quiet string and woodwind detail above the self-noise. Bodies are manufactured from 100% recycled PIR metal, with accessories and fully recyclable packaging engineered for minimal environmental impact.
