DESCRIPTION
The AKG Ara is a two-pattern USB condenser microphone built for podcasters, streamers, content creators, remote presenters and musicians who need broadcast-grade capture directly from a desktop, without an external interface or preamp.
Ara is a class-compliant USB device, so it connects over a single USB-C lead and is recognised immediately by macOS and Windows with no driver installation. Conversion runs at 24-bit, 96 kHz for high-resolution voice and instrument recording. A front-panel pattern switch selects between a tight front-address pattern for solo work and a front-and-back pattern for two-person interviews or a pair of players sharing one microphone. Level, monitoring and mute controls sit on the body, and the 3/8" x 5/8" adapter allows mounting on a standard boom arm or stand alongside the supplied desk mounting.
- 24-bit, 96 kHz analogue-to-digital conversion for high-resolution capture
- Two selectable polar patterns: front for single sources, front & back for two people
- USB-C connection, class-compliant plug-and-play operation with Mac and Windows
- Headphone output with level control and mute for latency-free monitoring
- Supplied 2 m USB-C to USB-A cable, 3/8" x 5/8" stand adapter and Ableton Live 11 Lite registration
Well suited to broadcast and podcast production, corporate AV and remote conferencing, education and home studio recording.
