DESCRIPTION
The dbx AFS2 is a two-channel automatic feedback suppression processor that finds and notches out ringing frequencies before they take hold, letting operators run more gain before feedback without audibly altering the source. It suits installers, house engineers and facility managers responsible for microphone-heavy rooms where speech intelligibility and reliability matter more than constant hands-on mixing.
Setup is handled by a guided Wizard function and a full LCD display, so filter types, modes and lift times can be configured quickly during commissioning and then left alone. Patent-pending AFS technology places precise filters only where required, preserving programme tonality. Balanced XLR and TRS inputs and outputs allow the unit to be inserted at the mixer output, into a matrix send or ahead of an amplifier or loudspeaker processor, and the rack-mount chassis and clear metering make it straightforward to verify operation in a busy equipment rack.
- 24 programmable filters per channel, assignable as Live or Fixed
- Stereo linked or dual independent channel processing
- Application-specific filter types: Speech, and Music Low, Med and High
- Selectable filter lift times for changing room and microphone conditions
- Input channel metering plus 24 LEDs per channel for filter status
A practical choice for houses of worship, corporate AV, education, hospitality and permanent installation work where wired and wireless microphones are in constant use.
