DESCRIPTION

The dbx 234XS is an analogue loudspeaker crossover that splits a full-range signal into separate frequency bands for individual amplifier channels, giving cleaner headroom and better driver protection than passive filtering. It suits engineers and installers building bi-amped or tri-amped systems where predictable, repeatable band splitting matters more than menu diving.

Configuration is set from the front panel: two-way stereo, three-way stereo or four-way mono, so one unit covers most main-and-sub or full three-way rigs. Crossover points are set with detented controls, and each output has its own level trim, mute and polarity switch for aligning drivers at the horn or sub. Balanced XLR connections throughout make it straightforward to patch between console outputs and amplifier inputs in a rack, and the 1U steel chassis is built for permanent installation as well as touring racks.

  • Selectable 2-way stereo, 3-way stereo or 4-way mono operation
  • 24dB per octave Linkwitz-Riley crossover filters
  • Balanced XLR inputs and outputs on all channels
  • Adjustable low-frequency limiters to protect subwoofer drivers
  • Phase invert and mute switches on every output, plus mono summing and a selectable 40Hz high-pass filter

A dependable band-splitting solution for live events, touring rigs, hospitality venues, houses of worship and fixed installation systems where a fit-and-forget analogue crossover is preferred.
