The dbx 231S is a dual-channel, 31-band graphic equaliser for engineers and integrators who need precise tonal control over a sound reinforcement system. Each channel provides 1/3-octave resolution across the audio spectrum, making it equally suited to ringing out monitor wedges, correcting room anomalies in a fixed install, or shaping the response of a main PA.

Constant Q filters keep the bandwidth of each band consistent regardless of the amount of boost or cut applied, so adjustments behave predictably and adjacent bands interact less than they would on a proportional Q design. Balanced XLR and TRS connections on both inputs and outputs allow the unit to drop into rack systems alongside consoles, processors and amplifiers without adaptors, and the straightforward front panel layout keeps setup fast under time pressure.
