DESCRIPTION
The dbx 1074 QuadGate is a four-channel noise gate that removes bleed, hum and background noise from individual signals without dulling the source. It is aimed at engineers and integrators who need consistent, transparent gating across drum kits, multi-microphone lecterns, wireless racks and instrument groups.
Each channel is controlled independently with threshold, depth and release, so gating can be tuned to the dynamics of the source rather than applied as a blunt on/off action. The depth control sets how much attenuation is applied when the gate closes, allowing natural room ambience to be retained instead of an abrupt drop to silence. Built into a single rack space with the rugged construction expected of the dbx 10 Series, the 1074 sits alongside the 1046 and 1066 in the same rack for a coherent dynamics chain across a console's inserts.
